How Does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Work?

We Help Our Clients in Pasadena Supercharge Their Body’s Oxygen and Healing by Up to 1200%!

All It Takes Is For You To Simply Sit Back, Relax, and Breathe

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is an all-natural, non-invasive treatment where our clients simply breathe pure oxygen in a greater than normal pressure environment.

The normal air that we breathe consists of 21% oxygen. By breathing in enhanced levels of oxygen in a pressurized environment similar to several feet undersea, the effects are tremendous. This combination can increase your body’s oxygen concentration up to 600% - giving the potential to lead to extraordinary health benefits.

The physiology of how it works is rather remarkable. On a normal basis, the red blood cells within your blood stream help bind the oxygen that you breathe to deliver it to the rest of your body. When you are inside our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber, it helps dissolve oxygen into the plasma which in essence is the “liquid” of the blood.

By doing this, it better helps oxygen travel within your blood vessels, lymphatics and cerebrospinal fluid to the areas of your body that it needs it the most. This provides your body a great opportunity to heal, regenerate and recover from whatever condition you are seeking help for.

In a 60 to 90 minute hyperbaric oxygen session, you are breathing concentrated oxygen while laying down or sitting up in a comfortable reclined position. This relaxing session gives you time to breath and rest. Many clients sleep, but you are also able to read, listen to music or even just browse on your phone.

Why Pressure Level Matters

Here’s something most clinics won’t tell you: not all hyperbaric chambers are created equal.

The effectiveness of HBOT is directly tied to two things — the concentration of oxygen you breathe and the atmospheric pressure inside the chamber. The higher the pressure, the more oxygen dissolves into your plasma, lymphatics, and cerebrospinal fluid. It’s basic physics, and it matters more than most people realize.

Soft Chamber (1.3–1.5 ATA)

At 1.3 to 1.5 ATA, you’re experiencing a gentle increase in pressure — roughly equivalent to being 10 to 16 feet underwater. This is enough to meaningfully increase your body’s oxygen concentration and kick-start recovery processes. For general wellness, brain health, energy, sleep support, and mild inflammation — this pressure range is effective and well-tolerated. It’s also an excellent starting point for anyone new to HBOT or anyone who prefers a lighter experience.

Hard Chamber (2.0 ATA)

At 2.0 ATA, you reach the pressure levels used in hospital-grade protocols and clinical research. This is equivalent to being approximately 33 feet underwater. At this depth, oxygen saturation in your tissues increases dramatically — penetrating deeper into injured or hypoxic areas that lower pressures can’t fully reach.

This is where the published research lives. Many of the landmark studies on HBOT for wound healing, stem cell mobilization, neurological recovery, and post-surgical optimization were conducted at 1.75 to 2.4 ATA. By offering a 2.0 ATA hard chamber, we’re giving our clients access to the same therapeutic range that’s driving the science forward.

The HealthFit Approach

We don’t believe more pressure is automatically better for every person. We believe in matching the right pressure to the right condition. Some clients start at 1.3 and never need to go higher. Others need the depth that only a hard chamber can provide. And some benefit from a progressive approach — starting mild and working up as their body responds.

That’s the advantage of having both chambers in one clinic. We meet you where you are and take you where you need to go.
