It promotes healing so you can recover from both acute and chronic issues so you can get back to the activities that you love.
What Is Low Level Laser Light Therapy?
Most commonly called cold laser therapy, our Laser therapy is an FDA-approved technique that uses targeted beams of light to stimulate injured muscle, joint, tendon, and nerve tissues. These beams of light, or photons, can penetrate 2 inches into the body, where they stimulate and energize cells in injured tissues so that they can repair themselves. Not only is this process faster than the body’s normal healing rate, it also results in stronger tissues because the laser stimulates collagen production. Plus, as the laser reduces inflammation, it also reduces pain. Provided that you do not re-injure the area, the pain should be gone for good after a few sessions.
Don’t be fooled by other products. Our MicroLight Smart 830 Laser is the only laser to use the 830 nm wavelength of light, which has been proven to provide optimal stimulation. At HealthFit Physical Therapy & Chiropractic, we are trained and certified in this laser therapy technique and you can rest assured we will provide safe and effective treatment.

How Does Laser Light Therapy Work?
Low-level lasers supply energy to the body in the form of non-thermal photons of light. Light is transmitted through the skin's multiple layers. When low level laser light waves penetrate deeply into the skin, they optimize the immune responses of our blood. This has both anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. It is a scientific fact that light transmitted to the blood in this way has positive effective through-out the whole body, supplying vital oxygen and energy to every cell.
Is Laser Therapy Safe?
Laser therapy has been successfully used around the world for over 25 years, with no reported long-term or irreversible side effects. Our Laser has been cleared by the FDA for the treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other joint and muscle problems. It has successfully treated chronic and acute pain, wounds and a variety of different conditions.
What Should I Expect During A Treatment Session?
For most of our clients, our laser therapy is very passive and they feel nothing at all. Some patients have reported a slight sensation along a nerve or a slight feeling of warmth. But for the most part, the treatment, which may last from 10 to 15 minutes, is not noticed at all. Following (and even during) a laser therapy session, approximately 75-80% of patients being treated can notice an immediate improvement in their condition. This will depend primarily on the type of condition and the length of time the condition has been present. Generally, the more chronic or severe the condition, the longer it takes to respond. The majority of conditions treated will take anywhere from 4-15 treatments. Once again, the number of treatments depends upon the severity of the condition and its duration. There are some conditions that will never completely resolve but can be helped and maintained with laser therapy. If your condition does not change immediately, it may take 3-4 sessions before a dramatic or marked change is perceived.
